TURKISH WORDS

C is pronounced J in Turkish. The Turkish alphabet uses letters with the cedilla, or tail. For pronunciation purposes, the spellings have changed here from the cedilla C or S', for example: to CH and SH for phonetic purposes.

Hello: Merhaba
Good-bye: Allahaismarladik (said by the person leaving) or Güle-Güle (said by the person staying)
Good morning: Günaydin
Yes: Evet (eh-veht)
No: Hayir (hay-yurh) Btw; another way to say HAYIR (no) is 'YOK' (yohk), which literally means it doesn't exist.
Please: Lütfen
Thank You: Tesekkür ederim or Mersi(Merci)
It is very nice: Çok güzel
It is expensive: Çok pahali
Today: Bugün
Tomorrow: Yarin
Tonight: Bu gece
Hospital: Hastahane or Hastane
Excuse Me: Pardon

TRANSPORTATION

The bus & Taxi station which is very cheap way to travel is situated in Dalaman Square just a short walk from the Villa, buses run every 15 minutes and 1 bus will take you anywhere in Turkey.

The people in Dalaman are very friendly so do not be shocked if someone who waved hello to you earlier during your holiday offers you a lift to help you reach your destination.

Cycle hire in Dalaman from 10 ylt (£4) a day or 50 ytl (£20) a week

SHOPS

There is a large supermarket only a 10 minute walk from the villa, if you don’t fancy walking jump on there local bus which comes around every morning for free.

The Chemists are located in the Town and at least one is open 24hrs a day, with a Doctor on the premises.

If you need to change some money visit the local Jewelry shop as they seem to have the best rates or you can go to the banks.

And remember the Turkish do love to barter so give it a shot and see how much money you get off!

ARRIVAL AT DALAMAN AIRPORT

On arrival to Dalaman you will need to pay £10. This is your entry visa into Turkey.

Deniz Guven is the manager of Turkish Property Shop, and is responsible of building our lovely Villa - he is also our property manager. Deniz handles the keys and the maintenance of Villa Wason and will sort anyything to do with the villa.

Ercan Guven is the manager of Metro Car Rental, and is responsible for our Airport Transfers.
